Joining Amway - Right Decision/Wrong Decision

10/7/2017

One fine evening me and my wife were waiting at the counter in a shopping mall when my wife was approached by a lady, I heard she murmured something to her, exchanged each others contact information and ended her conversation. I found that lady well dressed and fluent in English which gave me an impression that she could be an employer. Out of curiosity I checked with my wife if she knew her, she said this is the first time she met her, she added that the lady expressed her genuine concern if my wife was currently working or interested to do some freelancing. Genuinely speaking first time I discovered my wife's desperation about starting some thing new that can help us earn extra bucks apart from our traditional source of income. I also agreed to her proposition and said lets meet that lady and see what she has for us. This is how we got introduced to the NETWORK 21 business proposal. we were initially skeptical about this idea and had lots of queries as many would have before i said YES to them. First Wednesday of the day we got this business proposal gave us an opportunity to attend a business seminar where most of them were on certain levels of their business and were doing good. There was a speaker he happened to be a CA by profession  reintroduced the business plan from the scratch and opened all his cards on how we can earn at our best and full-fill all our dreams that seemed impossible from our traditional source of income. I found this business was not enclosed within bonds to a certain class or age group but it was open to all. I found people from different professional backgrounds were associated with Network 21 and were earning good from their passive income that gave me the confidence in joining them.

Network marketing or MLM requires interaction with people and building up a huge network in order to build your down chain. We started with positive energy and soon got vanished. We had to look for prospects no matter how far you go above and beyond the call of duty.
The core of multi-level marketing is creating a long down chain. Close to 90% of the people fail to go beyond the first level and wound up their business in first three months. Same happened with us, we couldn't survive due to tough business principles. We couldn't live up to expectations, finally we decided to give up. Yes, that was our failure or perhaps not my cup of tea.
MLM is incredible way to own your business if you are willing to take the necessary action. Please comment how you review this business model.

My Wife's First Job

After graduating from Pearl Academy, New Delhi, She was about to embark on a new career: Accepting a job offer. After completing her Master's in Fashion and Textile , She got her first job through Campus placement.
She lined up a position as a creative designer at a chocolate manufacturing company (Celeste Chocolate) She never knew this was going to be a nightmare for her working with them.Work environment and culture were daunting, people were joining every other day and splitting. There was a lady who portrayed herself a CEO of the company treated her employees like a slave. she was yelling at everyone, getting terribly frustrated at times appeared she was going though an emotional and psychological trauma. Believe me she really needed to see a psychiatrist.
Worst of all the company was going through a poor payment schedules, they pay by instalments that lost my wife's interest in working for them. Finally she decided to quit her job after tolerating one month.
Later one day we decided to visit company's HR to get her full and final done. Management/HR returned her certificates which they possessed at the time of onbording and promised to pay only 15 days salary in the next month since it was a case of immediate resignation. We also agreed to their proposal and waited patiently until next month so that she could get her salary credited but unfortunately that never happened. We didn't know we were deceived, it was a false promise made to us. we kept calling and following up with the company's HR however they never responded to us.

Three Months later she got another job offer as a Designer from an Export company on probationary period - It is a period of engaging an employee to test his/her performance on the suitability of a position.Till date she is enjoying her carrier and hopefully she should continue doing the same for years to come.

Let me ask how you could have handled this situation differently if you were at my wife's position at Celeste Chocolate? Your valuable inputs will be highly appreciated
